In developing the HT3 v2 for the 2012 season our highest priority was weight optimization. And we have achieved a substantial reduction in weight as compared to the previous year's model. Reliability and precision were also further improved as important factors for success on the competitive market, and the adjustment range of the chassis has been extended.
The best possible roll centre has been a factor considered in optimising the rear axle and the adjustment range of the upper control arm pins has been extended. On the inner side there are now six mounting options and the stub axle now provides three points.
Due to the improved rear axle, the wheel base has been raised by 20 mm to a total of 555 mm.
The weight of the vehicle can optionally be further reduced. For this purpose the weight of the chassis plate (the HT3 "light" chassis plate) has been reduced and parts formerly made of steel, such as tie rods, axle shafts, control arm pins, wheel axles and the gear shaft are now available in titanium as part of the package.
A further option involves the two chassis reinforcements combined with the servo plate. You can now choose between two small steering servos or a single large one.
The outstanding features of the HT3 have been achieved through precise construction, well thought-out detail solutions and the use of even higher quality materials. Just like in the past, the durability and stability are continuously being developed thanks to numerous test runs by the Hörmann Team.
